MTECH Set For Return To British GT

MTECH are to return to British GT in 2013 alongside a new campaign for their two regular drivers in major  European based championships with the team’s newly acquired Ferrari 458 Italia GT2, seen below during its shakedown at Fiorano.

“We have great plans for 2013, and will be racing with us in GT Open and non-clashing ELMS with the GT2 car; then we are close to signing drivers for Blancpain Endurance, and its our intention to run our regular two Ferrari 458 GT3 cars again in Britain. We have been a front running team in GT3 regularly over the last few years and for one reason or another we haven’t clinched the title, so we see it as unfinished business for the team”, explained team owner Mike Edmonds.

He went on to say,“Enquiries were fairly quiet before Christmas, but since we have returned to work the phone line have been melting with calls!, Its looking certain that we will have both seats in Blancpain and BGT filled in the next few weeks.”

On the staffing side the team has made some important additions with the inclusion of several ex F1 and Prototype people. This coupled with the driving skills of Matt Griffin and Duncan Cameron regularly saw the MTECH 458s the quickest in GT3.
