James Walker Gets Extended WEC Programme

Good news for all lovers of Jersey based rapidity as James Walker is this morning confirmed as remaining with the G-Drive/Delta-ADR Oreca Nissan LMP2 squad for the remaining six-hour races on the WEC schedule, starting this weekend at Spa.

Walker’s programme includes all of the remaining WEC rounds with the exception of  the Le Mans 24 Hours after taking a class victory on his prototype debut at the Silverstone WEC opener earlier this month.

James, who secured a Formula Renault 3.5 win at Spa in 2009, said: "After the win at Silverstone I was really keen to put a deal together to stay on with G-Drive Delta ADR. The WEC will be visiting some fantastic circuits all over the world and this weekend at Spa will be one of the best. The circuit is in the top three of my list and I've been very lucky to have had some great results there in the past.

"After the pole position and the win last time out we are leading the World Championship and even at this early stage we need to think about the points. I'll be very happy if we can come away with another solid result."

Delta-ADR team boss Simon Dowson said: "James impressed us greatly at Silverstone.

"He didn't have any proper running beforehand, he had limited running in the dry in practice and qualifying and was then put out in a pressure situation in the race, but he showed both pace and maturity."
