Oreca’s 2013 Spec 03 LMP2

2012 saw the Oreca 03 claim the European Le Mans Series championship (with Thiriet by TDS, and multiple race wins in the FIA WEC (with ADR Delta and Pecom).

For 2013 the Oreca design office have used the off-season to refine their car.

“Conforming to the rules, which excludes any work on performance for 2013, we developed a kit focusing on reliability, safety and mechanical intervention”, explained David Floury, Oreca’s Technical Director.

“We worked on several different points noted last year, things that we went over during debriefings with our customer teams to have the best results. It’s fair to say that change continues. The ORECA 03 is taking on its third season: we are now getting into the details. The reliability has been relatively good, but we can always improve that. We’ve made evolutions to the car as a result, while keeping in mind the ease for mechanical intervention. We don’t want to change everything to the point of disrupting the teams’ work, who now know the car well.”

Oreca will be represented by eight 03s at the Le Mans 24 Hours with Boutsen Ginion Racing, Delta-ADR, G-Drive Racing, Murphy Prototypes, Pecom Racing, Sébastien Loeb Racing, Signatech and Thiriet by TDS Racing. Three further more 03s are currently part of the reserve list: Race Performance, Signatech and Delta-ADR.
