WEC LMP2 News Round Up

HVM Status Pull Out Of WEC

The Silverstone Entry list for the opening round of the 2013 FIA WEC is down to 31 cars from the initially announced 35.  All four missing cars are in the LMP2 class leaving the ‘junior’ LMP class with a still healthy ten starters.

The team do intend to race in 2013 however with their Lola Judd Coupe and are “actively pursuing opportunities to create a revised programme ….in an ACO licensed series in 2013.”

Citing logistical issues Fabien Giroix maintains that the team will be on the grid for round two at Spa next month but are still looking to secure an additional two drivers with Giroix confirmed alongside Frederic Fatien, Stefan Johansson and Keiko Ihara.

Starworks – Still waiting for confirmed plan

There has been radio silence from Starworks on their non-appearance thus far, Peter Baron has been working very hard indeed to secure the deal that would bring the reigning LMP2 champions back to the fray.

The team though are the fourth to be missing from the Silverstone entry
