Bertolini and Camathias for JMW Ferrari

2012 ELMS GTE Pro Champions JMW Motorsport have confirmed a late deal that will bring Ferrari factory driver Andrea Bertolini to join Joel Camathias for the full season in the European Le Mans Series in the team’s Dunlop shod Ferrari 458 GT.

Camathias has been spotted testing for the team at Snetterton in recent weeks (pic above courtesy of and copyright to Richard Leach) but the signing of Bertolini is a major surprise.

Jim McWhirter, Team Principal

"We are at the start of another new adventure with the revised ELMS. The format calls for a different tactical approach but we are confident that we shall be in the mix from the beginning.

Dunlop are with us once again together with AJ Power, Redlaw, Shell Racing Solutions together with Zircotec. Michelotto continue to provide invaluable support.

It should be an interesting campaign aiming for the title and preparing for Le Mans 24 Hours"

Tim Sugden, Team Manager

"I am delighted to have such a high quality driver line up. I have known Andrea for many years racing against him, and watching his many successes, With Joël we have a fast, reliable driver who has already fitted in straight away with our team. We are now looking forward to a great season"

Andrea Bertolini, Driver

"I am really happy and excited to be joining such a strong team. The team's results have been excellent in the past and we need to continue that legacy. We have a good chance to this season and must remain focused as it will be a close Championship. I am very happy to be driving alongside Joël in the Ferrari 458 which is one of the best cars in the GT world"

Joël Camathias, Driver

"With no doubt, 2013 is going to be a busy and exciting season. I am delighted to go back to the ELMS, which is bound to return to splendour this year, and to do it with such a competitive team as JMW Motorsport. I am very impressed with what Jim McWhirter and Tim Sugden have achieved in such a short period of time and look forward to be part of the team and driving alongside Andrea"

2012 JMW driver James Walker is racing at Silverstone for Delta ADR in LMP2 but there seems no deal in prospect for Jonny Cocker after some storming runs last season.
