14 French based cars likely to race In 2013

A host of French teams have confirmed their participation in this seasons 2013 Blancpain Endurance Series. The Pro-GT, Sainteloc, SMG and SOFREV ASP teams have all committed to campaigns in the world’s best supported GT competition.

Sainteloc Racing will once again run one Audi R8 LMS ultra each in the Pro-Am and Gentleman’s trophy class in 2013. The team from Saint-Etienne scored a title victory last season as Robert Hissom and Pierre Hirschi took the crown in the Gentlemen’s Trophy class. For 2013 the team will defend this title and also enter another Audi R8 LMS ultra in the Pro-Am class.

The Pro GT team run by Phillipe Almeras, will return with two Pro-Am class Porsche 997 GT3R entries. Based in Gigean near Montpellier the Pro GT squad will be looking to capitalise on a strong finish to the 2012 season when they placed 2nd in Pro-Am at the Nürburgring last September.

Also entering with a Porsche 997 GT3R in the Pro class will be the SMG team, managed by Phillipe Gache. His team mates are set to be announced shortly.

Team SOFREV Auto Sport Promotion is back in force for 2013 with a duo of Ferrari 458 Italia GT cars. Both Maranello-built cars will be entered in the Pro-Am class, with team principal Jerome Policand being joined again by Maurice Ricci and Gabriel Balthazard. Jean-Luc Beaubelique, Patrice Goueslard and Jean-Luc Blanchemain will race in the Gentlemen’s Trophy for the team. Ex-French international and 1998 World Cup winning goalkeeper, Fabien Barthez, is likely to join the team for the 24 Hours of Spa in July.

Further to these confirmed entries, a number of other French teams are planning programmes for the forthcoming season.

ART Grand Prix, one of the most professional teams to compete in the series plan to return with two McLaren MP4-12C and the team plan to name a stellar driving line up in both Pro and Pro-Am very shortly.

Both the Sport Garage Ferrari and the Ruffier Racing Porsche again plan to race in 2013.The Speedcar Audi R8 LMS ultra should also be racing in the Blancpain Endurance Series during 2013, as will the Hexis Racing team who announced their programme last month.
