FIA GT Sunday Morning Warm-up All 26 cars were out and running in the morning warm-up session, the #13 Full Speed Racing Saleen though just running three out and in laps. For the remainder though there was a chance to see evidence of the potential race pace to come in this afternoon’s race. On that basis things look good for the lead KplusK Saleen, Wendlinger posting a 1:45.968, the first man to take the pace below 1:46. Michael Bartels was next up in the '#1 Maserati MC12 with Guillaume Moreau pedalling hard in the #19 LAA Corvette also under 1:47 (and the last man to do so) The #3 SRT Corvette suffered a puncture of the front right, just at the braking point for Stowe, Bert Longin doing a fine job of gathering the Corvette up, making the corner and cruising back to the pits as a message pops up for the DKR Corvette team to investigate a possible fire aboard the #9 C6.R – Palttala pitted, no fire apparent at that point and no real drama to report. The #77 BMS Ferrari meanwhile went into the gravel Paulo Ruberti, no apparent damage to anything but Italian pride 10 minutes to go and Mario Dominguez in the #18 KplusK Saleen went fastest with a 1:45.698. Adding further to the good news for the new squad Ryan Sharp, by now aboard #14 improved on Wendlinger’s time but still trailed #18 for a KplusK one-two in the session. Andrew Kirkaldy ended the session with GT2 bragging rights in the #56 CRS Ferrari, edging out Gianmaria Bruni’s best effort in the #50 AF Corse car with Martin Ragginger next up and upholding Porsche pride.
