LMS/ ILMC - Silverstone 1000kms - Hour Three Just before the top of the hour Darren Turner brings the leading GT2 car in for a routine stop, Rob Bell climbs back aboard. Bruni gets the hammer down as the #96 Ferrari takes the lead - 2:03.907 the best lap thus far for that car on lap 56. Bell responds as soon as the Aston gets up to speed with a low 2:04 then a 2:03.920 Jean Christophe Bouillon is pushing on in the #13 Rebellion Lola - into the 1:47s in pursuit of the sister #12 car ahead. There's another warning flag for a wayward runner, this time the title contending #95 AF Corse Ferrari. 14:04 - Bruni pits, with Fisichella pitting on the same lap. 14:05 Trouble for the LMP2 leader - Nick Leventis is hit in the rear by the Spyker, that spins #42 around and then he's clipped by a passing LMP car - that takes the left rear legality panel and left rear lights off the HPD - Leventis pits and is followed into pitlans soon afterwards by Miguel Amaral. - Richard Hein now leads and #40 rejoins in second place. Ojjeh spins and rejoins in the now third in LMP2 Bruichladdich GZ. #13 has no radio contact with the pit wall. Andrea Belicchi "I don't know if it was Cocker that damaged the rear end (the team had to replace a legality panel) I didn't feel any contact." Johnny Mowlem - "I went right round the outside of the Hankook Ferrari - giving him two thirds of the track and he still clipped my rear end. The back wheel went a foot into the gravel and that lost us loads of time." After completion of the latest batch of GT2 stops Rob Bell leads the class by almost 13 seconds. Greg Mansell "We were monitoring the slow drop in pressure but had to stop and change - After that I was one of the quickest cars out there - The Dunlops were excellent." 14:17 Bouillon is right with Jani for fifth overall as Amaral hunts down Nicolet for second in LMP2 (both Oak cars owe us a stop) Bouillon looks for a way up the inside at the end of lap 76 and the pair touch - Steady boys! The Bruchladdich car's recent off seems to have dislodged a legality panel - cue an enforced stop. Leventis meanwhile is a minute off the LMP2 lead and 4th in class. GT2 is still a dogfight throughout the top 10 - Melo is taking some time out of Bell but Muller and Mullen are getting onto terms with Alesi for 4th. Darren Turner - “It looks like we’ve got reasonable race pace, but fuel could be our problem. The Ferraris look to be doing two to four laps further than us but it’s a fast race so let’s hope the Pugs keep pounding out the laps and shortening the race as far as we are concerned. Even if they do, we might still need an extra splash and dash. "Rob did the first stint, I did the next. We new Ricard would always be our worst circuit because of the long straights and Portugal and Hungary better but we’re surprised with how today is going because this is still a quick circuit and whilst we don’t lack on power we do still lack on top-end speed. As it is, over the lap we can put in some good sector times.” The 3rd in FLM #48 Hope Polevision car is given a 1 second stop/go - Christophe Pillon though should retain his class position the car is a fll lap ahead of Gary Chalandon in the #43 DAMS car. Lapierre is closing quite rapidly on the leader - under 20 seconds back. 14:27 Amaral is through to second in LMP2 and pulling away from Nicolet #Bouillon pits from sixth, Hancock from 4th. There's trouble though for #13 "Hot Clutch" 14:30 #41 rejoins but has lost over 10 minutes. #77 has pitted recently for a right front tyre only! Minassian pits - his lead down now to just 14 seconds! Lapierre follows him in - there's a slight delay for #4 as the car's rear bodywork is checked and refixed The #30 MIK Lola crawls past the pitlane but makes it back round to pit - Fuel?. Jacques Nicolet is stopping on circuit in the third in class #24 Pescarolo. The car restarts after a short delay and pits immediately - The front bodywork is removed and then the car is pushed to the garage. 14:42 - The leading LMP2 car - the #35 Pescarolo pits - Amaral leads but owes us a stop. #88 gets a 1 second stop/go from sixth in GT2 - oddly that helps their team-mates title position! 14:46 - Lapierre is now 23 seconds behind Minassian with Capello a further 40 seconds back. The leading car is again warned for respecting the track limits RML pit for a splash of fuel - Tactics are coming into play. 14:50 - Paul Drayson loses his left front wheel into Village leaves the circuit but is cruising back to the pit. Leventis is now reeling in Richard Hein quickly - the deficit 17 seconds second to third at 14:52 The #24 car has a power steering problem - the car rejoined the race at 14:48 did one check lap and pitted and rejoined again. The team are going for a race finish and a win in the Green X Challenge. Guillaume Moreau in the #35 car meanwhile says their car is going for the win! 14:57 - Darren Turner takes over the JMW Aston after a routine stop - Melo inherits the class lead.
