Speed Euroseries, Le Castellet - Entry It’s a high quality 26 car entry for the inaugural round of the Speed Euroseries at Le Castellet this weekend. The Provisional entry lists 26 CN category prototypes spread across 6 different chassis makers, all powered by the 2 litre Honda VTEC engine. And there are big names aplenty to savour in many of those entries: Ex F1 men Philippe Alliot and Alex Caffi will race together with seasoned sportscar and GT racers Warren Hughes, Jody Firth, Joey Foster, Nigel Moore, Julian Schell, Dean Stirling, Jono Coleman, Bruce Jouanny, Robbie Kerr, Nigel Greensall, David Zollinger and Steven Kane. And there’s pedigree aplenty amongst the teams with current LMS squads RLR Msport and Pegasus both fielding entries too in the Series and past competitors Palmyr and Ibanez Racing Services out there too. And don’t discount the teams that have been racing the little 2 litre prototypes elsewhere – Bryce Wilson’s If Motorsport squad will be using all of their experience to squeeze the most out of their Ligier pair. And 2010 Champions WFR move over this year to their Peter Elleray designed WF03 cars as they follow the series from its domestic roots to a full European season. The Wolf name will be familiar to fans of a certain age and it is making its comeback in CN racing. We should see four of the Wolf GB 08s racing this weekend (pictured below) matching up against teams fielding Ligier, Norma, Radical and |Juno machines. One late change sees Ryan Sharp and Pietro Fantin stepping out of the #7 Ligier, replaced by quick Fortec Racing F3 pair Lucas Foresti and Harry Tincknell. Poor Ryan is reportedly in hospital with a stomach virus - We wish him a very speedy recovery.
