Blancpain Endurance Series, Magny-Cours - Pre Qualifying Report

The AutoVitesse Lamborghini Gallardo was quickest in another wet session at Magny-Cours this morning. The Pro-Am entry driven by Cedric Leimer was fastest around the 4.411 kilometers long circuit in the one-hour Pre Qualifying session on Satuday morning.

The session started as a wet session and lap times were similar to the ones set in the Free Practice session on Friday night. Contact between the nr 9 AutOrlando Sport Porsche 997 GT3 R of Raffaele Giammaria and the nr 50 AF Corse Ferrari 458 Italia of Jack Gerber at the Adelaide hairpin and the resulting debris on track resulted in a red flag about fifteen minutes into the session, but five minutes later the cars were back on track.

Shortly after the session had been restarted it was Cédric Leimer in the AutoVitesse Lamborghini Gallardo who went quickest in 1:55.545. His lap time was almost two seconds quicker than the fastest time set by the Scuderia Vittoria Limited Ferrari 458 Italia.

Unfortunately the session was interrupted once again when Paul van Splunteren put his Vita4One Ferrari 458 Italia in the gravel trap at Nurburgring, bringing out the red flag with 26 minutes left on the clock. Once again the session was restarted a couple of minutes later.

When the nr 60 McLaren GT McLaren MP4-12C GT3 spun at the Complexe du Lycée with just over a minute left in the session, red flags were displayed on the timing screens again and the session was ended.

As none of the drivers was able to improve the fastest lap time it was the AutoVitesse Lamborghini that stayed at the top of the timing sheets. Scuderia Vittoria Limited remained in second position, whilst Maxime Martin in the nr 40 Marc VDS Racing Team BMW Z4 GT3 took third place.

Quickest in the Gentlemen Trophy was the Sport Garage Ferrari 430 Scuderia nr 22 and in GT4 it was the nr 70 Lotus Sport Italia Lotus Evora GT4 that was quickest, beating the two Lotus Driving Academy cars and the RJN Motorsport Nissan.
