FIA WEC/ALMS, 12 Hours of Sebring - Friday Practice Audi was quickest in the final practice session ahead of qualiying later today. Audi’s #1 and #2 car did not go out and the #3 of Timo Bernhard, Romain Dumas and Loïc Duval only went out for 10 installation laps after its incident yesterday. On his final lap Dumas put in a 1:48.200. OAK Racing had a great final practice session. The #15 OAK-Pescarolo was second fastest overall and best of the petrol cars, Guillaume Moreau lapping the Sebring International Raceway in 1:49.684. In the team’s second car, the #24 LMP2 Morgan-Judd, Olivier Pla set the fastest lap in LMP2. Third fastest overall was the Rebellion Racing #13 Lola-Toyota, followed by a pair of HPD ARX-03a’s. In the GT class the battle for first one was a close fight, with the fastest lap time improved on the final lap. Gianmaria Bruni and Jaime Melo thought they had it, but it was the #77 Team Felbermayr-Proton Porsche 997 GT3 RSR of Richard Lietz that eventually set a 1:59.987. Moments after Lietz posted the fastest lap in the GT category Kevin Estre in the #11 JDX Racing Porsche spun off the track and into the tyres at turn 10. The red flag was shown and with only a couple of minutes left in the session it was not restarted. Next up is Qualifying for all classes. The #28 Gulf Racing Middle East Lola which was crashed by Maxime Jousse yesterday is being worked on. Reports are that the tub was not damaged in the crash and the damage is repairable. The team hopes to have the car ready in time for Qualifying, but we think it will not be back before the race. |
