Spa 24 Hours - Hour 20

11:06 - Ragginger in #23 BMS Porsche pits on lap 425 from second place - Hennerici rejoins.

11:10 - The GT3 lead battle is well alight - Zak Brown just 16 seconds clear of Vannelet - #68 leads #53.

11:13 #68 pits lap 411 from GT3 lead and 5th overall - Brown out - Cheever in - The Muehlner #53 car though goes by immediately - and the chase is on again.

The #85 Lamborghini gets a drive through for a pit lane speeding violation.

11:16 as the #68 car leaves the pits the #53 Porsche motors down pit lane from the GT3 lead and fifth.

But Cheever is running very slowly on the Kemmel Straight - he's making his way around somewhat under race pace.

The Mosler is in the gravel (from 17th place) at Turn 8 but rejoins after a short delay.

Cheever seems to be back up to speed and does not bring the #68 car back into the pit lane - It was an electrical glitch - Cheever rebooted the system and the car now seems fine.

The #99 Ford has rejoined after its starter motor woes, it’s in 9th but 7 laps down on the GT3 class battle.

Porsche sources are telling us that the Muehlner car has a transmission which is somewhat suspect!

Cheever is 26 seconds behind the Porsche on lap 415 but catching.

11:29 - #67 pits and is now into the top ten courtesy of the still stationary #73 - Johansson out, Assentato in.

11:32 - #73 rejoins in 11th place overall, Verbist at the wheel after a 50 minute delay.

11:36 - the recovering #17 IMSA Porsche is right on the tail of the #7 Trackspeed car in a battle for 12th overall and fifth in GT2 - the pass is made on lap 400.

11:39 - the #99 Ford pits again on lap 413 - way too early for a routine stop.

Stephane Ortelli (WRT Audi #73):

"We think it’s something to do with the fuel pressure control or something like that, but we really don’t know.

"We’re still looking. Driving with the damaged screen was easy because we are small! Also we have a second visor on the crash helmet so there is no risk. Vision is quite bad in the right-hand corners.

"The worst time was for Verbist, because he had the rain, with night and no wiper. For me the night was a bit harder, but for him it was really hard in the rain. He did really well, and we didn’t get the payback."

Zak Brown (UA Audi #68):

"It’s very exciting. First 24 hour race, the team’s doing a fantastic job, the drivers are doing a fantastic job. I wish the race would end now – well not now, we need to make back one more position.

"Still a ways to go, but everyone’s doing a fantastic job. Eddie just had an electrical issue on his out lap, so we rebooted and it’s running fine now, but it’s a bit nerve-wracking (given what’s happened to the #73), but I was anxious before that; I just hope it’s not contagious!

"Everything’s great; this is a dream so far. Regardless of the outcome, I’m thrilled. This is the kind of result which will give us the impetus to move onward and upward."

11:42 - #99 back into the race, still 9th with a 7 lap advantage over the #67 United Autosports Audi.

11:43 - #78 pits from 4th on lap 432 Lamy out - Jorg Muller in.

#17 gets a stop/ go penalty for overtaking under yellows.  That could cost it 12th but the #7 Trackspeed Porsche pits on lap 402.

11:53 - The leader pits on lap 445 Muller stays in.

IMSA #17 pits and Tim Bergmeister took the opportunity to bang in the fastest lap of the race so for Trackspeed - 2:27.149 is well enough to see the #7 car reclaim 12th.

Balandras is out of the #17 car - it rejoins with Belloc aboard.

Cheever is now making inroads into the #53 cars advantage - down to 17 seconds at 11:58.

11:59 #85 spins and rejoins out of the Bus Stop.
