FIA GT Entries – Latest Snippets
Ahead Of The Silverstone Opener

The FIA GT website has a very well laid out display of the 2008 FIA GT entry, at this link – and with just over a week to go before Silverstone, there are very few TBAs on the list.

Four of the TBAs are the drivers of the second Ferraris from Scuderia Ecosse and BMS Scuderia Italia – both running Pirellis this year. Jamie Davies and Fabio Babini are racing one of the Scuderia Ecosse cars, while Paolo Ruberti is joined by Matteo Malucelli in one of the BMS Ferraris (below).

Who will be driving the second cars from these two teams? We don’t know yet, but BTCC man Gordon Shedden was testing with the Scottish outfit recently, at Knockhill.

In GT1, the FIA GT website reveals that an all-Argentine team will compete in the top category this year: Escuderia ACA Argentina will be entering a Ferrari 550, and four Argentinians will share the car: at Silverstone, the pair at the wheel will be Jose Maria Lopez and Martin Basso. The other two, Esteban Tuero and Gaston Mazzacane, both have F1 experience.

Larbre’s Jack Leconte will be managing this entry, alongside his own Saleen (Vincent Vosse and Greg Franchi).

The 2008 season concludes at San Luis in Argentina.
