FIA WEC Silverstone Entry News

There are a number of changes to report on the entry for next weekend’s 1000km of Silverstone, Round 4 of the 2012 FIA World Endurance Championship.

In LMP2 Jan Charouz has this morning been confirmed aboard the #25 ADR-Delta Oreca 03 Nissan, the 2009 LMS Champion rejoins the team after a good run at the Le Mans 24 Hours which cemented the team’s current second position in the LMP2 standings.

Status GP meanwhile are set to field brothers Julien and Maxime Jousse alongside Alex Sims in their Judd engined Lola Coupe.

Gulf Team Middle East though have withdrawn one of their pair of Nissan engined Lolas after Stefan Johansson joined Frederic Fatien on the ‘crocked’ list, Johansson having suffered a broken leg in China recently.  The #28 car is therefore withdrawn and #29 will be crewed by Fabien Giroix, Keiko Ihara and Jean-Denis Deletraz.

The grid though has received another welcome addition with JMW Motorsport’s Ferrari 458 Italia now confirmed – Jonny Cocker and James Walker will therefore have plenty of class competition this time out in GTE-Pro!

The GTE-Am Aston Martins’ driver line-ups are now confirmed too with the #98 car confirmed for Stuart Hall and car owner Roald Goethe and the #99 with Beechdean’s ever enthusiastic Andrew Howard joined by regular British GT partner Jonny Adam and the new owner of the ex Jota Vantage GT2 Paul White.

The #99 car is the same car that competed at Le Mans this year with an all Danish crew, all three AMR Vantages tested at Donington yesterday with good pace and reliability.
