LMS Paul Ricard Test – First Impressions - Pt 2

LMP2

Plenty to comment on in the ‘junior’ LMP class.

The Bruichladdich Ginetta Zytek is resplendent in a new, primarily white, Valvoline livery.  The car has already been upgraded to 09 spec and will be in 09B trim by the time of the Ricard race next month.  Karim Ojjeh was keen to point out that his family-owned car will be participating in its fourth straight Le Mans 24 Hours in June.

The Race Performance Radical team were deeply involved in prepping their ex Rollcentre, ex Embassy SR9, the car has the latest Judd V8 installed for the 2010 season.

Oak Racing’s pair of Pescarolos are looking shiny and pink, their new Judd V8s nestling comfortably under the Mazda liveried engine covers.

RML’s Acura, no sorry, Honda, oh no sorry HPD engined Lola Coupe was getting some last minute fettling from an HPD technician.  The team, like several others, have had little luck from the weather in pre-season testing and so far have not run the car on slicks in HPD-engined form.

Business as usual at Quifel ASM, a double take moment when a pair of Cosworth jacketed technicians were spotted in the garage explained by the dual facts that they are actually (Cosworth owned) Pi Systems engineers and that it’s damned cold here this morning.

No dramas either on the Pirelli-tyred racing Box Lola front, both Judd-engined coupes look ready to go when the track opens at 10am.

Strakka’s Acura is in its final low downforce configuration, the new kit has only just arrived with the team so the car is not yet in its full 2010 livery.

KSM’s Lola Judd has no fewer than five drivers names on the roll hoop – Looks like the team are still looking to settle on a final line-up then!
