Le Mans Series Paul Ricard Test – First Impressions  -  Pt4

GT2

13 GT2 cars are in the garages here, the 13th seems to be a spare IMSA Performance Matmut 997 RSR, this the 2009 team car from Le Mans.

No dramas whatsoever apparent in the Felbermayer Proton camp, the team ready to go with their singleton car.

As are Schnitzer, the M3 GT2 about to make its European debut as an ACO blessed GT2 machine.

CRS Racing have a pair of Ferraris here, the teams second (ex Tafel, ex Farnbacher) 430 GTC not quite ready from Michelotto so the team have a ‘T’ car here in carbon-tastic trim.

AF Corse’s squadron of Ferraris are ready too, was there ever a more star-studded GT2 squad?

Hankook Team Farnbacher seem set to use some rather sudden yellow wheels on their Ferrari meanwhile and, whilst on the yellow theme, JMW’s brand new Aston martin Vantage GT2 is here, fresh from a brief shakedown at Turweston airfield.

The surprise here is that Richard Westbrook’s name is not on the door of the Aston, but instead is on the door of the Prospeed Porsche next door – It seems that the failure of FIA GT2 has had repercussions beyond that series – More later
