The Matech GT3 Drivers
For Silverstone

With the complete GT3 entry for the opening races of the 2008 season not yet available, we can at least name the drivers who will race the six Matech entries.

In the Ford GTs will be:
Jürgen von Gartzen / Luca Pirri
Thomas Mutsch / Ian Khan
Bradley Ellis / Ed Morris

In the Mustangs:
Scott Maxwell / Eric De Doncker
Romain Bera / Stefan van Campenhoudt
Thierry Blaise / Nigel Greensall

So some surprise names in the blue Fords – not least Bradley Ellis and Ed Morris racing together again: they raced an RPM Viper at Monza last year, and were right on the pace, going away with two podium finishes to their credit (a second and a third).

“I’ll be giving it my all at Silverstone and hopefully this one-race opportunity may lay the foundations for a strong future partnership racing with Ed and Matech,” says 2007 British GT Champion Bradley Ellis.

With Martin Bartek concentrating on running the team this year, his place, partnering Thomas Mutsch, will be taken by Ian Khan, throughout the season. Khan has previously raced his own Ferrari 430 in the GT3 Championship.

Maxwell and De Doncker were already known to be paired in one of the Mustangs, while Bera and van Campenhoudt were victorious in the #44 Matech Ford GT last year, in Sunday's race at Bucharest. Saturday's was won by Ian Khan, in his Ferrari.

Nigel Greensall needs no introduction here, while his partner, Thierry Blaise, hails from France. No doubt we’ll find out more about him on Friday.
