Three More Years For Jonny Kane At Strakka Having helped Strakka Racing to four race wins in 2010 - including an overall LMS win in Hungary and a class win at Le Mans - Jonny Kane's efforts have been rewarded with a three-year extension to his contract; and the Ulsterman again lines up alongside Danny Watts and Nick Leventis for 2011. “I’m thrilled that Strakka Racing has the faith and confidence in me to sign me up for the next three years," said Kane. "As a racing driver it’s great to have everything confirmed well in advance and for a team it’s important to have continuity and stability. “I get on exceptionally well with Nick and Danny, and as a driver line-up I think we compliment each other perfectly. Strakka Racing is a very young and ambitious sportscar team and the next three years are going to be very interesting, so I’m really looking forward to helping develop the car and the team and achieving even more success together.” Only mechanical problems at the Spa and Portimão LMS rounds prevented Strakka from taking the title last season, and the capture of the LMS crown is the team's aim this year; as well as defending its Le Mans title. The mighty HPD ARX-01 - now bearing the designation 'd' - will again be Strakka's weapon of choice. Piers Phillips, Strakka Racing’s Team Manager and Technical Director: “Jonny was the unsung hero of Strakka Racing in 2010, starting four races perfectly and driving faultlessly during the most challenging night stints in the other two events. With Jonny, Danny and Nick driving for us again in the 2011 Le Mans Series, we not only have stability and experience in the team, but one of the strongest car and driver combinations on the grid.” |
