Monza - FIA GT3 - Qualifying Times

An interesting little GT3 tale.... Tom Haines was due to race the #3 Tech 9 Porsche, with Peter Snowdon - as he did at Bucharest. But it turns out that Haines shouldn't have been able to race at Bucharest with the licence he's got. Someone, somewhere, wasn't paying attention when he signed on! So he's not in the #3 Porsche this weekend - although it took the officials until after first free practice to notice the discrepancy.

So who drives with Peter Snowdon? Well, Jurgen Barth was going to drive, it was all agreed - except that he's classified as a Gold driver (that's what winning Le Mans outright will do for you!). Next part of the story - Piers Masarati spotted Howard Spooner walking out of the circuit with his kit and asked if he would be able to drive, 10 minutes before qualifying! Spooner was due to race the #29 DAMAX Ascari - but having never driven a Porsche before, he qualified 33rd out of 36 in the first session.

The top eight in the first session all drove different marques - but Corvettes were 1-2-3 in the second session.
