The ORECA-FLM 09 Homologated Until 2014

The now very familiar Formula Le Mans ORECA-FLM 09 has had its current homologation extended to the end of the 2014 season.

Originally launched to populate a single-make championship in 2009 the FLM 09 has since been integrated as a stand-alone class as FLM in the Le Mans Series and as LMPC in the ALMS with more than 25 cars now having emerged from the Oreca factory.

“Managing costs is always one of our principal objectives,” said Oreca Competition Director David Floury. “We want to keep operating costs and the price of parts as low as possible, while maintaining a performance level between that of LMP2 and LM GTE. Presently, a season in FLM is only 50% of the budget needed in LM GTE.

“With the ACO’s homologation confirmed we can offer even more stability to teams.  The tub will remain untouched and if the car evolves, it will only be minor changes. We don’t want to force the teams to have to reinvest.”
