FIA GT3, Brno – Quick Race One Report
Aston’s Day

The first day of the fourth round of the European GT3 Championship really seemed to suit Aston Martin. With the Hexis Racing Aston of Accary – Mena on pole position for the first race and a strong 1-2 for Zani – Alessi (Brixia), followed by Lagniez –Makowiecki (Hexis) the British make enjoyed a fine day in a sunny Brno.

The start of the first race was rather chaotic, a habit in GT3. With both Gravity Ascari and the Ellis – Mortimer Ford GT going off, we lost three front-runners in the opening corners. A crash involving both #3 and #4 Kessel Ferraris caused a safety car intervention right after.

Meanwhile the pole position Aston Martin of Mena had a stop & go penalty, losing all chances of winning. While the battle for victory didn’t really come alive, the scrabble for third was intensive. In the end, local heroes Skula – Matzke made in their MM Corvette, tipping off championship leader Peyrolles – Ruffier (Corvette) and Voytech – Lacko (Corvette).

Pole for the second race tomorrow went to the Matech Ford GT of Mutsch - Khan.
