Britcar 24 Hours - Saturday Morning Notes We're struggling here at Silverstone, the dsc Ed's hard pressed laptop has finally cried "Enough!" and has refused to co-operate. We're playing catch up then as the clock ticks down to 4:30 and the start of the Britcar 24 Hours. The weather is clear, indeed borderline good - Though we are expecting rain - and lots of it - from around 8pm. A couple of updates - The Chimptune Lotus is ready to go after its fire yesterday evening, a broken bracket severed a fuel rail but the team have worked wonders overnight. The new Rollcentre Mosler Cup has been quick but has suffered with clutch problems in every session, the car also emitting smoke on the downshift, the mapping needing work too. "We're doing all of or dirty washing in public," said a busy Martin Short, "But the good news is that the car is a pleasure to drive and is quick out of the box. We've had to compromise big time on our dry set-up for the wet weather we're expecting so we'll see where we are after things settle down." At Lotus Sport James Rossiter revealed that the last car he drove before the Lotus Evora was a Dallara Indycar! "The car is great, they did exactly the right thing getting Johnny Mowlem involved to develop the car. it will be awesome in GT4 when they've got it where they want it." The Aquilla will not feature car owner Nigel Mustill on the driver roster - Huff, Bennett and Burt will more than suffice we think! |
