Le Mans 24 Hours, Wednesday Morning Notes

There’s a strangely quiet atmosphere around this morning with the skies looking cloudy and a little threatening but the forecasts currently promising no rain until Friday – Then showers, a dry Saturday and potentially a wet Sunday.

Graham Tyler is celebrating the 25th anniversary of his 21st birthday with some natty new Radio Le Mans overalls – Powered By Nissan –  DSC has placed a bounty on the first spy shots of his engine bay!

Mark Cole tells DSC that the Eurosport coverage of free practice this afternoon is now not going to start until 6pm – Queens Club tennis the preferred offering instead apparently – Though DSC’s resident West Londoner tells us its raining there at present!

Lunchtime saw us taking lunch with several of the Rebellion Racing crew, beyond the clear frustration of the continued non-equivalence in LMP1 the team are quietly confident of a good, strong run – If the diesels falter might we see a petrol car well up the order? – the sportsman in us hopes so.

The race will see some extra live internet coverage on www.audi-microsites.com/lemans.

Audi will be delivering a 24-hour live stream with onboard footage of the three Audi R18 TDI cars. In addition, telemetry data of the respective vehicle such as speed, selected gear and position on the track will be available online.

On Twitter the five-time Le Mans winner Emanuele Pirro will contribute current information and assessments of how the race is developing.
