Hour 2 The second hour of the race begins with Paul Daniels spinning the Arc Bratislava S7.R at La Caixa, prompting frantic waving of yellows and a most precarious recovery of the car by several brave, or foolish, marshals. The Saleen was recovered without incident, fortunately, and was able to return to the pits unaided. As the GT1 arrives back at the pits, the safety car is scrambled for the second time after Karim Ajlani soins the #35 OAK Racing Pescarolo and ends up stranded across the track. This car is also recovered successfully and proceeds pitwards unaided. The safety car stays out for quite some time to allow the pitstop cycle to play itself out, and after about 15 minutes begins to wave cars by; indicating that it will soon be coming to an end. Belicchi - the only one of the P1 cars not to have stopped for a second time - is picked up shortly afterwards and the timing screens indicate that the safety car is in at the end of that lap. When green racing resumes, the #13 Lola's lead is 15 seconds. Olivier Pla has also not pitted at the head of LMP2, but he is in ten minutes later for a lengthy stop. At the same time, Christoph Tinseau takes third from Harold Primat on track in the #16 Pescarolo. Team Modena has done well out of the latest caution period. They stopped just before the safety car came out and onloy took on fuel. With the two cars immediately behind stopping under caution and taking on tyres, the Ferrari now holds a one lap advantage. The #33 Speedy Sebah Lola has resumed after losing 21 laps - the problem traced to the electrics and resolved. Michael Krumm, meanwhile, was hit so hard by the Signature Oreca Judd in the first hour that the entire undertray was dislodged; necessitating a very lengthy stop. A spin into the gravel for Giacomo Petrobelli sees the #91 FBR Ferrari recovered under yellows and without the need for a safety car. Belicchi takes his second scheduled stop as the hour enters its final quarter, but Nicolas Prost has trouble getting way from the pitbox. Does this indicate looming starter-motor problems? Christian Albers is awarded a stop/go for exceeding the track limits in the #15 Audi. Biaggi pits the #30 Speedy Sebah Lola from the P2 lead, and shortly afterwards the second placed #41 GAC Ginetta-Zytek is broadsided by the GT1 leading IPB Lambo, Kox at the wheel. The RML Lola now leads P2, with Tristan Gommendy in a fine third in the WR Salini. As the hour ends, Joao Barbosa suffers a three-minute stop/go in the #17 Pescarolo for failing to observe the pitlane limits.
