Le Mans 24 Hours - Wednesday Post Session Quotes

Kai Kruse:

“The accident was a bad one and the damage is serious, very serious.  We will know tomorrow whether it can be fixed.  Hideki is at the medical centre being checked over but he seems fine.”

Warren Hughes:

“Considering our end to the test day and the effort that has had to go in since then that was a very good day.

“We had a well thought out plan and worked our way through it. Tomorrow is all about our race programme and the race engine and gearbox are going in now. We’ll do a low mileage run.

“All in all the car was where we thought it should be.  The only thing about the pace out there that surprised me was that the Porsches were about a second quicker than I thought they would be but this isn’t the kind of race that gets won on that sort of pace anyway.

Thomas Blam – Flying Lizards

“Jorg set the time.  He got baulked a little bit by our mate Pat before the break so we had to have another go but that counts as a good day for us.”

Pat Long:

“That was all good fun.  It’s actually eerie to be this relaxed at this point in the week.  We actually scrapped out qualification plans before dinner and concentrated on race set-up.

“Depending on the weather we might have another go tomorrow.  There’s been a bit of needle with Jorg, particularly over dinner where he said I blocked him on an earlier run, all in good spirit though – I told him I’d given him plenty of room but he still asked for a couple of pit passes back that he’d let me have for my family.  I think he was kidding!”

Oliver Gavin:

“I’m raging a little bit because I didn’t get a good run on the tyres.  I was absolutely all over Jan’s time and I got a tyre alarm in the cockpit as I reached the Porsche curves, I asked Steve Cole whether I was OK to push and he called it right and told me to abandon the run.  It was a right rear and he was spot on.”

Stefan Johansson:

“The car (the #21 Epsilon) is not even close at the moment but we’ll get it squared before the race comes around for sure.”

Johnny Mowlem:

“I’ve had a couple of laps in daylight and 4 in the night and was very pleased to get into the 3:30s with that running.

“I’m hoping for a bit more running tomorrow in the dry and in daylight, hopefully a new tyre run.  It all helps with getting to grips with it all.
