Sebring Race Day Warm Up
An Oops for the 90 BMW

'Tis a glorious morning here at Sebring. The sun is out and the drunks are stirring. Yup, it's a Sebring race morning.

The partying went on long and late, as usual. The volume of noise was quite evident at DSC homebase, where even Paco the wonder dog was in awe of what could be heard from the track.

First of all, a hang in there to the missing usual DSC contingent of Janos and Russell - you've been missed.

Warm up thankfully started without any early cold tire incidents - we don't need any issues at this point. The topic of tire warmers was again brought up by Dale White, of Drayson Racing. "Many of the issues we've had with cars going out on cold tires and having incidents could be avoided if they'd let us use the tire warmers. We've all got them - they're not that expensive. Even if we didn't have them, I'm sure they pay for themselves if they prevented one off."

In turn 17, the No. 90 BMW (Joey Hand) had an off, which looks to have been assisted by an encounter with one of the big bumps in the corner. The car had at least some front damage, as it went into the tires on the outside of the turn.

The Primetime (I wanted to type Viper) PC has made it out. It's quite a bright car now, sporting bright green rims. In certain views it sort of reminds me of the Audi crocodile car from, sadly, many years ago.

For those keeping score, a total of 29 cars went out in the session, although it appears as if the Dyson Lola Mazda made only a single out and in lap. (burgers anyone?) As usual, it was a Pug 1-2, with the Highcroft Ac…er, HPD turning in the third fastest time of the session. Surprisingly, it was the 08 Peugeot turning 12 laps in the short 30 minute session.

Risi scored the fastest GT2 lap of the session, right on the last lap. In the "C" classes, it was a Level 5 1-2 in PC and TRG top in GTC.

Word just in that the No. 90 will start the race from pit lane. Quite a fall from pole position.

It's now a short time to the kick off of the pomp and pageantry of pre race and then the start of the race. Oh, don't feel sorry for the TBD brothers for not making the race. They're listed as having parts in the minute by minute pre-race hoopla. Oh joy…
