Le Mans Series - Spa 1000kms - Pre-Race Notes

Still sunny as we approach race time but more and more forecasts are predicting a heavy shower at about 16:30 local – Also the time predicted for the end of the race is we stay away from full course yellows!

Strakka Racing are pushing hard to repair the #42 HPD in time to start the race - It obviously though will not take up its grid slot.

Peter Kox isn’t present here as he’s on ADAC GT Masters duty for Reiter today.  There’s no change to the plan though for Kox to be aboard the Young Driver AMR Aston for Le Mans.

Andrew Kirkaldy:

“We had so little running in the dry it’s a bit of an unknown quantity at the moment.

“We were quickest in the practice sessions by a second (check?) which is quite encouraging and I got a good qualifying lap to go third, so that’s good. Tim Mullen will start the car and we will see how things develop. GT2 is so close though, we’re expecting another epic scrap with the other Ferraris like we had at the last round.”

Anthony Davidson on Peugeot’s progress:

“So far the team is comfortable with what we’ve done this weekend, but we made a fairly poor tyre choice for qualifying and are the slowest of our cars.

“We feel a little bit on the back foot for the race but I guess we’ll just get through the first few laps and see where we sit. It can all change very quickly here, particularly on the run down to the first corner. Marc will start the car.”
