Oasis Motorsport To Race in ELMS GTC Class

Oasis Motorsport is the first team to confirm plans to race in the new 2012 European Le Mans Series GTC category. The Portuguese team, based near Estoril, has announced its intention to race a Ferrari F430 Challenge.

Most recently Oasis Motorsport ran cars in the SEAT León Eurocup and the Spanish SEAT León Supercopa, but the cancellation of the two series in 2011 meant the team was forced to take a sabbatical this season.

Oasis Motorsport now plans to return to action in the newly formed GTC category of the European Le Mans Series. For Oasis Motorsport the GTC category is an ideal opportunity to step into sportscar and GT racing and to continue developing its team. The fact that the European Le Mans Series also races at Portimao is also a factor in the teams decision to enter, according to the team’s press release sent out today.

For now a single-car entry has been announced, but the addition of a second car is still a possibility.
