Testing Times

Pre-season testing has been a rather trying time for more than one team.

Pecom Racing suffered a heavy accident with Luis Perez Companc at the wheel of their brand new Lola at the car's first test at Estoril.

Despite major damage though the Lola factory responded quickly and the refettled car was back on track (albeit just for a part day, at Imola earlier this week).

Greaves Racing were having an excellent pre-season run, with multiple wins in their Radical SR8 in the Oreca Winter Series and testing with the Zytek Nissan that was seeing great, trouble-free running from both the chassis and engine.

That run though was rather spoiled on day one of the Imola test by a major off for Thor Christian Ebbesvik, the cold conditions seemingly catching out the young Norwegian at Aqua Minerale, the team's Zytek Nissan suffering heavy damage that looks set to see them now miss next weekend's Le Mans Series Test at Paul Ricard.

The car is now back in the UK for an assessment of whether the tub is able to be repaired or requires replacement.
