Radio Le Mans Interviews 23:00-01:00
Nick Damon, Joe Bradley & Graham Tyler

Allan McNish – Audi #2

“We’ve still got a pretty good car; the balance isn’t too bad, but the circuit’s changing – it’s getting slippy again as it gets colder. Some of the Peugeot drivers perhaps aren’t up to it and are starting to make mistakes out there. We weren’t looking forward to seeing a 3:19, but it’s up there. That car is a long way down, though, with a gearbox problem. If it can happen to that car, then perhaps it can happen to the other two.

“The quadruple stints have been the most efficient way for us to do it, so far; but that may change – we’ll see.”

Mike Newton – RML MG-Lola #25

“We’re still trying to work out what happened. I was approaching the Porsche Curves – I wasn’t even at the braking point yet – and then the car just snapped sideways and lifted on the left hand side; all I could see was tarmac on the rise. Fortunately, the car dug in on the grass and that brought it back down again – at least I landed the right way up!”

Mike Hezemans – Spartak Racing Murcielago #55

“Someone turned in on Peter (Kox) and hit him on the side, causing some damage. He also reported a vibration, so we’ve brought him in to check it over.”

Steve Zacchia – Speedy Racing Lola #33

“Mine was a difficult stint in the dark, but I didn’t make any mistakes. We had troubles with the door system in the LMS races, but so far nothing in this race.”

Tom Kristensen – Audi #2

“The car is very consistent, with no problems apart from a little bit of understeer.
There’s lots of gravel on track – a lot of slower cars have gone off around the circuit.

“My first two stints were good, but the compound was perhaps a little too hard later on; but the car’s good and running like clockwork.”

Softer tyres now on the car? “Well, they’re black at least.”

Bob Berridge – Chamberlain-Synergy Lola #19

“We’ve got engine problems that have been creeping up on us during the day. The lads worked fantastically well to fix the car after the crash. That took an hour and a half; and they had another hour to sort other issues – but it’s getting worse, so we’re going to call it a day.”

Tim Sugden – Virgo Motorsport Ferrari #96

“For some strange reason, we lost power steering three or four hours ago. It’s actually okay; the car’s alright to drive – just takes a bit more effort. It’s just a shame, because the car’s running so well; if we had power-steering then things would be even better.”
