With the title settled in Fuji in Starworks’ favour after by far the best LMP2 race of the season there’s a little of the spice missing for the final round.

This one then will be all about the race win and there are plenty of contenders who will be looking either to underline their form and/ or to salvage something from their season this time out.

Starworks are likely start as favourites again but the Pecom, ADR Delta and the luckless Signatech Oreca Nossans will all be looking to have a say.

So too will the rapid but so far not reliable enough Morgan Nissan of Oak Racing.

And neither should we forget the growing pace of the Lotus LMP2 squad, Shanghai should be the final appearance of their Lolas, with the Lotus T128 chassis due to test soon, and the #32 car in particular has been looking ominously fast.

Greaves Motorsport too will be looking for a leap in form – Steady points scoring has characterised their season, but they’ll need to dig deep if the podium is to be troubled.
