ILMC, Zhuhai - Sunday Morning Warm-Up It's good news all round this morning as the promised rain hasn't materialised, the weather is fine if smoggy/ hazy. We've already been told that what has become a regular Sunday power outage in the city won't happen today either - Happy Days! 28 of the 29 runners were out for the 20 minute warm-up session starting at 8am - just the #61 AF Corse 430 opting not to run. The first ten minutes saw the Audis, Rebellion Lola and #007 Lola Aston top the times - 1:24s-1:26s the range between this quartet as Peugeot conducted a series of out and in laps, Montagny suffering a slightly muddy off in the #8 car but pitting and re-joining with no apparent damage. Bourdais in the #7 car though was soon up to pace and posted a 1:23.133 with 8 minutes of the session remaining. In the GT classes it was a BMW 1,2 at that point Priaulx posting a 1:35.708 in the #56 M3 - behind them were the trio of 458s, Makowiecki topping the threesome but with the #98 GTC Audi in their midst. Johnny Mowlem ran wide at T9 and spun into the gravel at T10 attempting to re-join - Car problem? We'll definitely hear about that! Christian Ried had a quick pirouette in the proton Porsche but recovered and Oscar Slingerland added to the Lotus showreel at T9 with a half spin too. 2 minutes to go in the session and with the #65 Lotus recovered Frederic Makowiecki edged out the BMWs, an improved time for Jorg Muller still falling short of the #59 Luxury Racing man's 1:35.564, Muller though edged it back next time around - 1:35.457 for the #55 BMW. |
