A Belated Post Race Round Up

“It was a bit frustrating in the last hour.  All of the alarms were sounding in the cockpit and I wasn’t sure we could bring it home.  It’s a credit to the team that we are here on the podium.”

“It has been a great experience.  I was one of two first timers in the car and of course we lack experience here at Le Mans and we lost time because of that for sure.

“We fix our programmes from year to year and our first objective now will be to go and complete a win in the Le Mans Series.

“We came very close to our overall aim, to beat Audi here. To battle with them so closely, for over 12 hours is unforgettable.”

“We took a gamble.  We had been trying very hard to get the lead back and it had not worked.  We took a gamble and it didn’t work out so we lost.

“Our drivers, Nicolas (Minassian) in particular were very brave and I’d like to thank them.”

Nicolas Minassian:

“I was trying to push, trying to fight. I took the decision to stay on the slicks and managed to close in by about 15 seconds.  We had to do something at that point.

"Then I change to the wets and they overheated and were destroyed immediately so I had to change again straight away.

“Of course I am disappointed not to win but we have to come back and try again

“Audi deserved it. We need to go away now and look hard at the strategy to confirm where we fell short.

Jacques Villeneuve:

“The car was very competitive but our rivals here were very strong and we were beaten fairly.”

Marc Gene:

“During the night we didn’t really risk the tyres and we had more pit stops than we expected.

“All in all though I really should be happy just to be here after what happened just 2 weeks ago.”
