IMSA, Phoenix and ProSpeed Confirm Lineups

With the 2010 Total Spa 24 Hours rapidly approaching, three significant teams - potential race winners all - have announced their lineups for the belgian classic.

Phoenix Racing will enter two Audi R8 LMS in the GT3 class, with the nominated drivers being Mike Rockenfeller, Marcel Fässler, Lucas Luhr and Anthony Kumpen in one car, and Markus Winkelhock, Marc Hennerici, Alex Margaritis and Henri Moser in the second; “Phoenix Racing has achieved several exploits at the Spa 24 Hours and we’re pleased to participate with two Audi R8 LMS and two very strong driver line-up again,” says team principal Ernst Moser. “Our aim is clear: we want to win the GT3 class again.”

ProSpeed Competition, meanwhile, will be fielding four Porsches in the race - two 911 GT3 RSR in GT2 and two 911 GT3-R in GT3.

The GT2 line-ups are Paul van Splunteren, Niek Hommerson, Louis Machiels  and Phil Bastiaans, and Marc Goossens, Marco Holzer, Marc Lieb and Richard Westbrook

"For the first time since the GTs were first introduced in Spa back in 2001, GT2 is now the top class and we are determined, together with Porsche, to add this major race to our record of achievements," said Westbrook. "In endurance racing the Porsche 911 has a great record, as proven by the victory of a Porsche GT2 in 2003 up against far faster GT1s and our ambition is quite clearly to clinch victory."

"Phil (Bastiaans) is a fast guy and fits perfectly in our team," said Paul Van Splunteren. "With his experience he’s undoubtedly an added value to our trio."

In GT3, Remy Brouard will team up with Philippe Nozière and Christophe Kerckhove, while the second car will be manned by as-yet-unnamed Belgian drivers.

"I look upon myself as a true endurance driver and finished in all of my eight participations in Spa," said Kerckhove. "ProSpeed Competition played a major role in this and I’m fully convinced that we’ll also be playing a major part in this edition, finishing with an excellent result on Sunday at 16.00hrs."

IMSA Performance Matmut also enters two  Porsche 997 GT3 RSR in the GT2 class and sees its Le Mans trio of Pat Long, Patrick Pilet and Raymond Narac being joined by Richard Lietz; with the second RSR being manned by Christophe Bourret, Pascal Gibon, Richard Balandras and Jean-Philippe Belloc.
