Future Grid Notes From Petit

Casual conversations around the Petit paddock gave the following news for the 2012 season:

Not confirmed but heavily discussed is the story that Cytosport will be returning for a full season with a P1 HPD-03a.

Chris Dyson confirmed that the team intends to return with a 2 car effort, similar to what they have raced this season.  There is also hope for a 3rd car, but it’s way too early to confirm that.

Robertson Racing – Andrea intends to return next season and work is under way to secure the funding in order to do so.

TRG – According to  TRG’s Bob Dickinson, the Kevin Buckler team is planning on full season efforts in both the ALMS GTC class and also the Grand Am GT class.  The team will be chasing championships in both series.

Flying Lizards – Assumed full season ALMS effort and Seth Neiman is weighing options to return to the Rolex 24 at Daytona in the DP class.

Larbre – 2 car effort (Corvette) in the WEC.  The team will split between the GTE Pro and GTE Am.

According to Oreca’s Doug Bebb, there has been strong interest in their LMPC chassis.  Last year at this time there were no firm leads, but so far they have had 7-8 strong inquiries and are confident of selling 3 of them.  There is also a possibility of one current LMPC entrant moving up to either P1 or P2 in 2012.
