FIA GT, San Luis - Pre-Qualifying
Newcomers Make An Impact

The second session in San Luis went to Marcel Fässler and the very fast local driver Risatti. The Phoenix Corvette was faster than the Ferrari 550 of Tuero and Lopez and the #2 Vitaphone MC12 of Ramos and Negrao.

Allan Simonsen set fastest early, but lost his laptime due to a non-respect of the white lines. That made it a session best for Phoenix. Behind the top-3, SRT recovered from earlier transmission problems and “Mad Max” Soulet was fourth quickest. His team mate Christian Ledesma, Chevrolet works driver in the TC2000 championship, was also very fast.

Ledesma: “I adore the car, it’s incredible. Now I’ll have to try to continue in this series, as I fell in love with it…”

The PK Carsport Saleen had a troubled run with a broken water pipe for Longin and Kumpen.

In GT2 Porsche seems to struggle to keep up with the Ferrari 430. Collard was only sixth, being almost a second slower than the Advanced Engineering Ferrari F430 of local heroes Matias Russo and Luis Perez Companc. The CR Scuderia boys were third and fifth, with the #55 in front of the #56. Scuderia Ecosse was seventh quickest.
