FIA WEC, 6 Hours of Interlagos - Race Day Warm-Up

All 28 cars were out on track for a steamy start to raceday at Interlagos, it looks like we might have (finally) a sunny day, something which, with higher temperatures, the Rebellion Racing boys were looking forward to – Nico Prost’s early times in the session, lapping faster than the Audis early on.

Tom Kristensen though restored order to the racing world by dropping in a 1:24.1 to top the order with Jonny Kane popping in a time just 7 tenths shy of the #2 Audi’s best before TK stretched the advantage to over a second.

In LMP2 Dalziel, Pla and Kraihamer were pretty closely matched with Bruni and Lieb making the running in GTE Pro, Enrique Bernoldi doing the pacey honours in GTE Am.

Toyota though are very keen to keep up the pressure on Audi here and Lapierre was up to speed (and then some!) in the final 7 minutes of the session 1:23.5 grabbing the top slot for the polesitting TS030 then a 1:23.4 stretching the envelope a little more.

Some more rapid lappery in LMP2 saw Kraihamer top the class times but the difference between the top three was down to just 5 hundredths of a second!

After time in the garage (rear deck change after an incident where a Starworks Mechanic was struck by the car as it entered the pit - Bruised but unbowed we understand) the #1 Audi popped up second fastest with Andre ‘The Daddy’ Lotterer at the wheel.

Two classes with faster cars with fuel disadvantages are a virtual guarantee of a fast race here – Mouthwatering stuff to come from Interlagos.
