Portugese Trio Test Libra Radical

Portugese Trio Duarte Felix da Costa, Lourenço Beirão da Veiga and Ricardo Bravo tested the Libra Radical SR9 last week with a view to a possible Le Mans Series campaign in 2011.

da Veiga and Bravo took both the Spanish GT Championship and Portugese GT3 Championship in 2010 whilst da Costa has scored podium finishes in Touring Cars and the GT Open.

The trio want to make history as the first team totally formed by Portuguese drivers to participate in the Series, taking the wheel of the 2011 version of the Radical SR9 (albeit still with the 2010 engine) at NC CAR circuit - North Carolina last Wednesday and Thursday.

Duarte Felix da Costa: "To get all sorted as soon as possible is our goal at the moment because we will not only represent our sponsors but also Portugal and this test was good to realize that we are ready for this new challenge. The car is very efficient on aerodynamics and breaking, more than any other car that I ever drove before."

Lourenço Beirão da Veiga: "We had two very positive days of testing as I was improving every lap and getting more confidence of a car unknown to me until now and I must say I was even positively surprised with our quick adaptation."

Ricardo Bravo: "In my case it's a totally new experience because I never had even driven a singleseater before. This car is amazing, besides the enjoyment I took these two days, I believe Duarte, Lourenço and I will form a very strong and consistent team to contest in the Le Mans Series."

The three are now in discussions about terms for the season - We're hopeful though that we'll see a deal in place for the season.
