The German bids his farewells and Andrea Piccini takes over the #16 Audi. 09:10 Puncture for the leader! Piccini gets back to the pits but has damage been incurred? 09:13 The #16 loses about a minute - enough for Ortelli to take the lead. 09:15 Aaron Scott reports that GT3 Racing team manager Jim Hersey has just said that there are "14 Scooby Doos to go!" Huh? "Each Scooby Doo episode is half an hour and when you think of your stints in terms of Scooby episodes, it doesn't sound too bad!" They're a strange bunch in that garage! 09:18 Ortelli now leads by 34 seconds. 09:20 The #75 ProSpeed Porsche drops out of the top 20 as work continues on the brakes, promoting Peter Belshaw in the #30 Audi to 20th. 09:27 Palttala sets his car's fastest lap - 2:21.158 - as he tries to close the 90 seconds to the third-placed #2 Audi of Vanthoor. Strange moment there... We reported earlier that Rene Rast would be on his way to Hungary - he isn't. Rast did not race yesterday and will not race in Porsche Supercup today. 10:29 85 Mustang also through the grass at Les Combes. 10:31 Debris on track T3 10:41 From the pitlane: Andrew Howard, #107 Beechdean Aston Martin V12 Vantage GT3 (just prior to his car losing a wheel): "The car's running really well at the moment and feels strong. We've had the usual 24-hour wearings and knocks, which have taken their toll, and we had a battery issue that stranded Phil at pit-in. We changed the battery and I took over, but as we weren't fully sure that it was the battery I had to drive without main beams for a few laps; fortunately it was the battery. "The conditions last night were incredible - I've never driven in anything like it! Of course, as is the case in racing, once you've coped with and survived something like that you tick it off the list and want to get straight back in the car. "The rain was so heavy there was water coming over the bonnet! I had mentioned to the guys the other night that I may try powerboat racing next year - I don't need to now because that was what it felt like last night! "I've worked with a lot of the guys for years and they are the real heroes - all we do is drive round and eat!" 10:56 The #3 BMW stops and Maxime Martin takes over from Palttala. 10:59 With just over five hours to go (390 laps) Stippler's lead over Haase is 124 seconds. |
