Montagny too has had a puncture and pits a lap or two early. The #55 BMW gets a 1 minute stop go for a pitlane infringement - Melo leads in the #71 Ferrari. The #16 Pescarolo pits after a problem out on the circuit - its wheeled into the box. Bouchut leads LMP2 Ojjeh takes what should be the #41 car's final stop. Melo pits from the GTE lead as the BMW takes its penalty - 45 minutes to go. Despite being announced as an 'abandon' the Krohn Racing Ferrari has returned to the pit under its own power. Team managers of the two CRS Racing Ferrari's as well as the Prospeed Competition Porsche have been summoned to the race director. Pescarolo confirms the brake disc problems on the #16 Pescarolo. It's just gone back out. Level 5 Motorsports also made its final pit stop from the lead in LMP2. Bouchut in a battle not for position hits the back of the Strakka Racing HPD ARX-01d. Doesn't have to risk anything with just over half an hour left! The gravel trap at Variante Villeneuve is attracting the LMP2 cars at the moment. First the Extreme Limite AM Paris Norma M200P a few minutes ago and now the #49 OAK Racing Pescarolo through the kitty litter. Bouchut stretches out the lead over Ojjeh with half an hour left - 3 seconds quicker on the last lap.Gap 16 seconds now between first and second. After Armindo passed Roda for the GTE Am lead - Long is now hunting down Armindo again. Last stop for the #1 was indeed for a puncture. They will only need a splash and dash. Sebastien Bourdais sets the fastest lap of the race on lap 206, a 1:33.112. After almost five hours and forty minutes of racing! Long did not pass Armindo...yet. The gap has gone down to 9 seconds, but can Long get to the end without stopping? Bouchut pits again. Not looking good. Ayari passed him for second place in LMP2. Bourdais pits from the lead and returns to the track after a 57 second stop. Montagny now 18 seconds behind in second place. Muller back into second in class in the LM GTE Pro category at the expense of Gianmaria Bruni. Vilander still over fifty seconds ahead. Bouchut back out again after 2 minutes and 53 seconds in another unscheduled stop. 15 minutes left and many battles for podium positions still going on throughout the field. LMP1 gap between third and fourth is under 2 seconds, Russo minute and a half behind Bouchut for third in LMP2, Bruni 9 seconds behind Muller in GTE Pro. Pat Long only 4 seconds behind Narac in battle for GTE Am lead. Kyle Marcelli now leading in FLM after passing Mirco Schultis. Pat Long can clearly see the IMSA Performance Matmut Porsche of Raymond Narac. Anthony Beltoise suffers a problem into the Variante Villeneuve and goes into the gravel. Returns to the track, looks like left rear suspension problem. Beltoise parks his Luxury Racing Ferrari 458 on the grass coming out of Acque Minerali. End of the race for that car it seems as the thread of the wheel came off. Long just a tenth behind Narac at the end of sector two. Five minutes left - will Montagny come in for a final splash and dash? Answer is yes as the Peugeot Sport Total crew comes out into the pit. Jorg Muller pits again, Bruni back into second in LM GTE Pro. Narac still keeps Long behind him in GTE Am. Montagny pits at the end of lap 218, allowing the Audi's onto the same lap as the #8. But the #7 Peugeot is still in a league of its own. Pat Long pits - that is the battle in GTE Am over and done with. LAST LAP Sebastien Bourdais takes the win in the 6 Hours of Imola after completing 220 laps in six hours! Montagny finishes second, with Timo Bernhard securing third place for Audi Sport Team Joest. Greaves Motorsport wins LMP2, the Signatech Nissan car finishing second - another 1-2 for the Nissan engines. Bouchut manages to hold onto third place - good result, but probably not too many happy faces right now. AF Corse make it a 1-2 victory for Ferrari on home soil. BMW Motorsport salvages a third place finish, another one that the BMW M3 GT did not win. Narac and Armindo win GTE Am for IMSA Performance Matmut. Proton Competition second and Larbre Competition with its Corvette third. JMB Racing wins FLM - not bad for a team that wasn't invited at first and with a driver line-up that was supposed to race in another entry here. Pegasus Racing takes second and Hope Racing third.
