Le Mans Test Day, Saturday Morning Notes – 2 LMP2 (and FLM) 12 LMP2s and 3 FLM Orecas are present with no major surprises to report just yet. The solo Signatech Oreca Nissan is here with the same driver crew from Sebring, Lucas Ordonez the embodiment of hope for the reported 90,000 that have registered to compete in this year’s PS3 Challenge!
Level 5’s pair of Lola HPD’s both have the same driver trio listed on the doors (Tucker/ Bouchut/ Barbosa) for both #33 and #34 cars) – Oddly we don’t believe Luis Diaz will be present this weekend.
RML have the newly homologated HPD low downforce pack here (the only place it can be used) for the first time. Strakka Racing are of course not present this weekend.
Marc Rostan has appeared as the third driver aboard the #40 Race Performance Oreca Judd (BMW).
Jody Firth was apparently reviving the riding mechanic role aboard the TDS Racing Oreca Nissan this morning as he and Mathias Beche prepared for on track action tomorrow – With TDS not even listed as a reserve entry the team won’t make the race – But might one of these drivers show up somewhere? Time will tell. Greaves Motorsport is one of a small number of teams listing 4 drivers, young Alex Brundle will try the Zytek Nissan for size and is here today with father Martin in support, the BBC F1 man chatting this morning with old mate Dave Price.
Oreca’s LMP2 Oreca Nissan is here, part liveried with the truck’s liveries perhaps indicating that the final look will be different to that seen elsewhere!
Hope Racing and Genoa Racing FLM Orecas are unchanged from their Ricard line-ups but the JMB car has 2010 JMB man John Hartshorne listed alongside Philippe Mondolot and Olivier Lombard.
