Le Mans 24 Hours Qualifying 1

We have a 20 minute delay as work is carried out on the Tertre Rouge armco, following earlier damage.

Meanwhile, a little birdie tells us that Peugeot will not be bolting on qualifiers and that the nominated drivers have been told to stand down. There is the outside possibilty that Sarrazin will be sent out later in the session in the #8 on qualifiers, but that would be the only factory car to give it a shot.

Hugues de Chaunac confirms to RLM that ORECA has not protested the Aston Martin direct injection engine, but has asked for clarification from the ACO on its legality.

The session finally gets under way at 19:25 local time, with the clock still showing a two hour session. Presumably, this means a reduced 'lunch break' rather than the second session running past midnight.

Thomas Biagi's session doesn't get off to the best of starts, as the Racing Box Lola stalls in the pitlane and has to be pushed out of the way.
