Hour 3 Conditions remain stable as do the positions. The No. 2 Audi remains clear of the Peugeots. As David Lord reported, the No. 08 908 had an off on its recon lap before the start.
The Mexican Acura has had a chronic steering problem, knocking them out of the LM P2 lead. By contrast the UN-Cola Lola is well clear of the fully licensed P2 cars. If the Van der Steur team could stop stewing and turn around, they would still have a shot at the class podium.
The Panoz has had crank sensor issues while the two works Corvettes now dominate GT2. We’ve had a plethora of short yellows. Rob Bell went off with the Drayson Lola. A wheel may not have been set right and he went into the “safer” barriers on the out lap. There was surprisingly little damage to the car, despite the lack of a wheel and Bell was able to return for quick repairs. On the restart Butch Leitzinger went off, bringing the safety car right back out again. Rain has been edging closer but its exact arrival is uncertain. JW |
