ELMS Official Test Days, Paul Ricard - Saturday Afternoon

Martin Brundle got his first proper run in the Greaves Motorsport Zytek Z11SN-Nissan and his debut in an LMP2 car went well. Competitive lap-times by Brundle Sr and Brundle Jr meant the car went to the top of the timing screens and stayed there for almost the entire session.

But in the end it was the Thiriet by TDS Racing Oreca 03 Nissan again that blasted through to set the fastest lap of the fourth session. Its lap-time of 1:47.102, set with less than half an hour to go, was 0.729 seconds quicker than the Greaves Motorsport Zytek Z11SN Nissan and 1.396 seconds quicker than the Boutsen Ginion Racing Oreca 03 Nissan. The Boutsen Ginion Racing time was set by former Red Bull driver Brendon Hartley, who made his debut in an LMP car here and completed his first laps in this fourth and final session.

In the GTE category there were happier faces at JMW Motorsport. After ending the morning session in thirteenth and last position, the #66 Ferrari 458 Italia was the quickest GT car in the afternoon. With a time of 1:58.048 it was over half a second quicker than the other Ferrari 458 Italia.

OAK Racing and Race Performance did not take part in the final session. The French team and its drivers making their way to the airports to fly out to Sebring, whilst the Swiss team suffered engine problems that cut short their day.

In three weeks from now the European Le Mans Series will return to the Circuit Paul Ricard for the opening race of the 2012 season.
