2010 Le Mans 24 Hours - The Automatic Entries
29 Possible Entrants

The ACO has released the list of 29 automatic entrants - 7 x LMP1, 7 x LMP2, 6 x GT1, 9 x GT2 - leaving 26 slots on the grid still available.

The most obvious (nay, astounding)  characteristic of the list is the complete absence of the name 'Audi'. Whether this will have any bearing on the decision-making process for 2010 in Ingolstadt remains to be seen.

Peugeot and Speedy Sebah are the  numerically dominant teams with three entries apiece, but only one Aston Martin appears in the list. Lola appears four times, but there is no Dyson Lola-Mazda on account of the PLM-winning car not conforming to the 2009 regulations.

The big question mark concerns the GT1 class - six auto invites, but with cars no longer eligible for competition. How many of those slots will be filled by grandfathered 2010 cars? There could have been eight auto invitations in the class, but Corvette Racing and Larbre Competition were deemed to have entered an insufficient number of races in the ALMS and LMS respectively.

Entries for the remaining grid slots (which may include automatic entries not taken up) will open on December 21st and close on January 20th.
