24 Out Of 28 Confirmed For Le Mans
Having initially invited 24 entries to race at Le Mans, and then added four more (the top two teams in each of GT1 and GT2 of the FIA GT Championship), the ACO has issued a list of 24 entries that have been taken up.

The four that haven't are the two Penske Motorsports Porsche RS Spyders, the second RML entry (the team earned two invitations thanks to winning Le Mans and finishing second in LMP2 of the Le Mans Series) and the entry that was offered to Vitaphone Racing.

Although Michael Bartels did consider an alternative GT1 car, it now seems likely that Vitaphone will apply for an entry with another car from the Maserati-Ferrari family - probably a Ferrari 430.

The 24 entries that have been taken up are listed below. Significantly, that means three Audi R10s to race at Le Mans, against the two Peugeot 908s.

The closing date for applications for the remaining 31 entries for the 24 Hours is January 24. The ACO will issue a list of the next group to be invited at the end of February, and the final, definitive list of 55 cars (plus reserves) will be announced after the (March 25-26) Paul Ricard test days (also taking into account performances at the Sebring 12 Hours).
