Le Mans 24 Hours Test Day - Entry Notes

Whilst the entry list for the Le Mans Test day generally follows the list for the race proper there are some exceptions as teams opt to cover some of the racing and commercial bases with the rare opportunity to test drivers over the full Le Mans circuit.

In LMP1 the only deviation from the race entry is that Audi reserve driver Marc Gene is named in both the #3 and #4 Audi R18 ultras as the team holds their collective breath to see whether or not Timo Bernhard will be fully fit after his Sebring test shunt.

Mike Rockenfeller meanwhile is absent on DTM duty

LMP2 sees a raft of additional drivers and a trio of additional cars.

The Lotus Lola Judd team fields their first LMP reserve #32 car for Dariusch Ahrabian,Kevin Weeda, James Rossiter and Vitantonio Liuzzi - Renger van der Zande meanwhile is added to the #31 car’s crew after running in the #32 car at Spa-Francorchamps.

Sebastian Loeb Racing will get their first opportunity to run at Le Mans – The team co-owner will return to the track and will be joined in the #19 Nissan powered Oreca 03 by the team’s full season entries Nic Marroc and Jean Karl Vernay

Level 5 will field their second (#95) HPD for Scott Tucker.

Philippe Papin joins the named trio in the Extreme Limite Norma which has been repaired post Spa shunt.

Finally in LMP2 there is the Gulf Racing Middle East squad  - Jean Bernard Bouvet joins the regular trio of drivers in the #28 car whilst in the ill-starred sister #29 Lola Fabien Giroix is named in both cars and ALMS regular Tony Burgess makes it five names in the car.

In GTE Pro Patrick Pilet is named in the reserve listed IMSA Performance Matmut Porsche and is joined by Prospeed pair (for the 24 Hours) Sean Edwards and Bret Curtis, whilst in GTE Am the #79 Lizards Porsche lists Patrick Long and Marco Holzer on set-up duty.

Finally there are a pair of LMPC Orecas from the factory with a sextet of drivers getting the opportunity to post rookie laps.

The #90 car features Bruno Bazaud, Denis Caillon and ex-Manchester United and French national Goalkeeper Fabien Barthez.  The #91 car has US based pair Duncan Ende and Henri Richard joined by Steven Palette.
