All British Line-Up For Embassy At LM 24 Hours

Embassy Racing 2008 Le Mans Series regulars Warren Hughes, Jonny Kane and Joey Foster will form an all British line up in the Embassy Racing WF01 at this year’s Le Mans 24 Hours.

Team Principal Jonathan France said:

“An entry into the Le Mans 24 Hours is the most exciting opportunity for any sportscar racing team.  It is, without exception, the world’s most prestigious and charismatic motor race and I needed a driver line-up that would give us the best chance of doing well.   The three drivers in Warren, Jonny and Joey represent our strongest possible trio and I have every faith in their ability to produce class leading driving performances.  Also, as an independent all British based constructor and with our close relationship to Triumph, the iconic British motorbike manufacturer, I felt it important that this was reflected in those stepping into the car at this year’s Le Mans.”

The most experienced of the Embassy drivers, Warren Hughes will be contesting the Le Mans 24 Hours for the sixth time this year and he has already enjoyed success at Le Sarthe, winning in the LMP2 class and setting the fastest class lap in 2005 for RML:

“I am very excited about going to Le Mans with Embassy.  The team is organised and determined and we have some of the best people I have worked with in all positions.  The WF01 is a new car and has had one or two teething problems which has to be expected.  It is clear, though that there is much promise in the car and I am optimistic that this will be revealed at the 24 Hours.”

Jonny Kane, who was teammate to Warren in the 2001 and 2002 24 Hours is also no stranger to Le Mans, 2008 will be his fourth race at the 24 Hours and will bring all his talent to bear on the gruelling race:

“Le Mans is very special to any driver, but to be able to come with a new team and new constructor adds even more to the occasion.  I can’t wait to be a part of it with Embassy and I am confident the car and the team will go well.”

Prototype rookie Joey Foster is the new boy to Le Mans, but his times in the WF01 in this season’s championship so far have shown without doubt that he has the talent and the class to run with the top drivers.  About being in the line-up for Le Mans Joey said:

“This is a dream come true for me.  I am very grateful to Jonathan and everyone at Embassy who have shown incredible faith and belief in my driving ability.  I am blown away by the opportunity but feel that I am up to the task and will do all I can to match the speed and consistency of my more experienced teammates.”
