Late dramas, the #12 Chesterton Marcos looks set to take the start, Topcats’ crew having performed a super quick engine change – the replacement 7 litre lump having arrived just a couple of hours ago.

There is bad news though, post warm-up, for the J&S Porsche 911 GT2: the car dropped a valve at the end of the session, but the team is confident of taking the start though from the pit lane.

The Rollcentre Mosler is fighting fit too after a minor whoopsie from Andy Neate in the warm-up session, so it should be 60 cars to take the start, following the preceding Dutch Supercar Challenge race (the other DSC!) - this a cracking race with Ian Flux failing to chase down the immaculate ex DTM Audi TT of Elmar Grimm in the other Rollcentre run Mosler, Ric Wood finishing third in his immaculate ex-DTM Opel Astra.

The ever hard working Steve Wood has just delivered a final entry list which has a total of 234 drivers listed.

Amongst these are the team Scandal Lotus Exige, again a Honda engined machine:“We think we can get close to three hours on fuel,” sys Chris Randall.

It’s a welcome return to racing for Tom Shrimpton, the youngster leading the Richard Thorne squad in their Morgan roadster: “It’s basically a completely new car, and the first time that the roadster has done any endurance racing. It’s got more power than the standard car, around 340 bhp and a full front aero kit with Aero 8 wheels and brakes, a full roll cage and, because the regulations say we have to, a full hood.”

The last pre-race action of the afternoon is in the air with a mock dogfight between a Messerschmidt 109 (actually a Rolls Royce engine Hispano Suiza Bouchon) and a Spitfire. Welcome to the UK,Duller and Tischner Motorsport!
