04:02 GTE Am The timing screens are reporting that smoke has been spotted at the rear of the #61 AF Corse-Waltrip Ferrari.

04:02 LMP1: A longer pitstop and slower lap times by Jeroen Bleekemolen mean the #3 Audi is now up into fifth position. Neel Jani is still over a lap ahead in fourth place. At this pace Dumas is catching him rapidly though.

04:05 LMP2 Ayari does #49's best lap with a 3:40.943.  He is easily the fastest in class at the moment but is 2:33 down on the leading Greaves car.

04:05 GTE Am Rui Aguas pits the #61 to have its issue sorted, while Michele Rugolo also stops in the third-place #57 Krohn Racing 458 and goes into the garage. Paolo Ruberti is about two laps further back in the #88 Felbermayr Porsche, but could soon progress if either or both of the Ferrari stops turn out to be lengthy. As this is typed, Rugolo takes the Krohn car back out.

04:08 GTE Am Despite its many problems, the #75 ProSpeed Porsche is coming back into contention in sixth. Sean Edwards pits and Alfaisal takes over.

04:09 LMP2 Jota's woes continue but their bad news is good news for Oak who are back into 12th in class with the pink and black #35.  Heinemeier Hansson is at the wheel

Race control says there is contact for Lombard at Mulsanne Corner.  Yes, the replay shows the car jink left under braking and then skate across the gravel and bury itself into the tyre, quite a hard impact.  A shame as the car had been running well in fifth.

04:17 LMP2 Car 23 has rejoined according to race control but it will have some heavy damage to the front end.

04:21 LMP2 TK-S pits from the lead and hands the car to Dalziel.
#23 doesn't look to be in too bad shape as Lombard brings it home but it remains to be seen how the Oreca has borne the impact beneath.

04:22 LMP1: Problems for the #1 Audi. It is reported as 'contact at MP123'. This means it has made contact with something or someone at Karting. Fässler returns the Audi R18 e-tron quattro to the pit. Replay shows Fässler lost the car and spun it.

04:23 GTE Pro - the 4th placed #77 Felbermayr proton Porsche is reported as stopping at the entry to the Second Chicane

04:32 LMP2 the two Irish P2s get tangled up at pit-in, although possibly not making contact.  Sims pits after losing a little time in the stand-off but Hartley loses a lot of time, seemingly without power and facing oncoming traffic.

04:38 LMP1: Danny Watts has passed Karun Chandhok - Strakka moves ahead of JRM, as the JRM car pitted.

04:38 LMP2 Hartley still hasn't got the Murphy car back into the pits so it presumably won't restart.  3 places lost already but the crew are now running up to the pit entry.

04:40 LMP1: Bleekemolen out of the Rebellion Lola after a 3h20min stint. Says he lost some time after an extra stop when he was given hot oil temperature alarm.

04:41 LMP2 TV pictures show us the left rear wheel of the Murphy car is not attached properly and there is damage around it.  It looks like it is all over.

04:43 LMP2 As it is stripped down the Signatech #23 car of Lombard reveals that it does have a considerable amount of damage that needs to be rectified.
